The Real Estate Agents Licensing Board hosted a successful roadshow in Korovou Town, Tailevu and the Nausori Municipal Market on Friday, March 10.

The objective of the roadshow was to raise awareness on the role and functions of the Board, the importance of engaging licensed agents when dealing in real estate business, and being aware of the risks associated with using bogus/unlicensed agents.

In making their presentation, the REALB team also explained the various laws and regulations governing the real estate industry.

The event drew a large number of attendees who came to enquire about the services provided by the Board including licensing of real estate agents, approval of salespersons and branch managers, and the issuance of permits to undertake transactions in the real estate industry.

Members of the public also asked questions and sought advice from the REALB team on matters related to the industry during the daylong program.

The Compliance and Monitoring Officer Vinal Singh said they were overwhelmed with the high turnout and the level of interest shown by those present.

He said the roadshow was a great opportunity to engage with the public and raised awareness about the services provided by the organization.

Mr Singh added, “We hope that the roadshow will encourage more people to make more informed decisions and also to promote greater accountability and transparency among agents in the real estate industry. This is just the beginning and we will continue to hold more roadshows to reach out to more Fijians.”

The roadshow is one of the public engagement events the Board uses to create public awareness on real estate issues.

The REALB team will be conducting a roadshow in Sigatoka Town on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
